US-operated AFP at the wheel on war on terror – fisherfolk group
Manila, Philippines – The militant fisherfolk group Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas (PAMALAKAYA-Pilipinas) on Friday lashed out at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for letting the United States (U.S.) intervene on the ongoing war against the local terrorist group Maute in Marawi City.
The fisherfolk group said President Rodrigo Duterte loses its command over his own military. It seems that only those military generals in his Cabinet have control on the ongoing conflict particularly Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon and AFP Chief of Staff Eduardo Año who deliberately allow American military forces to intervene in the Marawi siege. President Duterte admitted that he was unaware of the presence of American troops in Marawi to provide Filipino troopers with “technical support”.
PAMALAKAYA said foreign meddling in our internal conflict is a clear violation of our sovereignty and constitution. Whether it is for technical or direct support through operations, the U.S. army has no right to interfere in our civil war. The group warned President Duterte on how the U.S. leaves Middle East countries that have ongoing armed conflict devastated after its “military aid and assistance”.
Lift Martial Law in Mindanao! – Fisherfolk to Duterte
Manila, Philippines – The militant fisherfolk group Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas (PAMALAKAYA-Pilipinas) on Wednesday scored President Rodrigo Duterte for declaring Martial Law in Mindanao following the clash between the state forces and the Maute Group in Marawi City yesterday.
The fisherfolk group said military rule even in the past has never resolved any lawless violence in the soil but rather, it creates more human rights abuses and hostilities against ordinary civilians.
“We oppose the Martial Law declaration in Mindanao. This will subject unarmed and ordinary civilians to more human rights abuses, warrantless arrests and filing of trumped up charges perpetrated by the state forces. It will also make the civilian communities a battle ground between the government forces and their alleged ‘enemies’, making the civilians as collateral casualties,” Fernando Hicap, PAMALAKAYA Chairperson said in a statement.
PAMALAKAYA said even with the absence of Martial Law, peasant and Lumad communities that have been fighting for right to land and self determination are highly militarized; activists and peasant leaders are being killed. Now that Martial Law has been declared, it will heighten the dictatorial and suppressive character of the state forces.
The fisherfolk group raises doubt on why the martial rule has been declared in the whole of Mindanao when the clash only occurred in Marawi City.
“We fear that the real score behind Martial Law is to curtail the legitimate struggle of the people in Mindanao for land, justice and peace. President Duterte must unconditionally lift his martial law declaration because it is clearly unjustified and obviously dictated by the warmongering military generals in his Cabinet,” ended Hicap. ###
U.S. Pentagon runs AFP – fisherfolk group
Manila, Philippines – With the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) continuation of its hostilities in the countryside despite the ongoing peace negotiations with the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) and the communist-led National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP), it is crystal clear that President Rodrigo Duterte is out of hand with his armed troops, said the militant fisherfolk group Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas (PAMALAKAYA-Pilipinas) on Wednesday.
The fisherfolk group slams the AFP for its ongoing presence in Brgy. Patungan, a 602-hectare coastal community in Maragondon, Cavite where 353 fisherfolk families have been facing a threat of demolition since last year to pave way for private beach resort of the Maria Teresa Virata (MTV) Corp.
On Friday, the regional chapter of PAMALAKAYA in Southern Tagalog reported the presence of around 80 combination of Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Air Force (PAF) in the community. The residents feared the presence of the armed troops might lead to another violent demolition attempt like what happened last year.
Government’s all-out-war means total war vs unarmed activists and freedom fighters – fisherfolk group
Government’s all-out-war means total war vs unarmed activists and freedom fighters
– fisherfolk group
Manila, Philippines – The militant fisherfolk group Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas (PAMALAKAYA-Pilipinas) on Wednesday assailed President Rodrigo Duterte’s all-out-war declaration against the Communist Party of the Philippines and its armed-wing New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) for according to them, this is equivalent to a total war against unarmed activists and rights advocates fighting for the welfare and basic rights of the marginalized people.
President Duterte’s declaration of an all out war was part of his series of tantrums after he lifted its own unilateral ceasefire declaration against the revolutionary rebels followed by complete termination of the ongoing peace negotiations between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) and the communist National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP).
In a statement, PAMALAKAYA lambasted the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Eduardo Año and the Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana for working hand in glove to derail the peace talks. The two high-ranking AFP Generals are the partners in crime behind the cessation of the peace negotiation that could have been achieve prosperous developments that are deemed helpful to the Filipino people in the process.
Anti-peace high-ranking generals operate in the AFP – fisherfolk
Manila, Philippines – The militant fisherfolk group Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas (AFP) scores some of the high-ranking Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Generals for sabotaging the ongoing peace negotiation between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP). The fisherfolk group pinned AFP Chief of Staff Eduardo Ano and Department of National Defense (DND) Delfin Lorenzana as the top two powerful generals who work hard to obstruct the just and lasting peace in the country through addressing its root causes like poverty and injustice.
Both the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and the GRP have lifted their respective unilateral ceasefire declarations after the Duterte government has failed to make up on its promise to release hundreds of political prisoners and with the continuing military operations and harassments in the countryside despite the unilateral ceasefire.
“If President Duterte lets hard-line militarist AFP generals encroach in the peace process, then peace that we all long for and we worked hard for months is unlikely to take place. President Duterte should listen to the Filipino people and not to what these anti-peace AFP generals prescribe,” Fernando Hicap, PAMALAKAYA Chairperson said in a statement.
Don’t use fishermen as pawns, collateral damage in Philippine-China dispute – fisherfolk group
“The AFP wants the big brother in Washington DC to come in like a wrecking ball at the West Philippine Sea even if it means the complete surrender of Philippine sovereignty to the US.” – Pamalakaya
By GERRY ALBERT CORPUZ
MANILA – A national federation of small fishermen today accused President Benigno Simeon Aquino III and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) of using small fishermen as political pawns and ready-made collateral damage in its current dispute with China over islands in the West Philippine Sea.
Pamalakaya chair and Anakpawis Rep. Fernando Hicap delivers sponsorship speech against Charter Change
Land for the landless, Not Charter Change!
Genuine Sovereignty and Patrimony for Filipinos!
First and foremost, the representative of Anakpawis partylist expresses gratitude to the House Committee on Constitutional Amendments for giving way to tackle the House Resolution No. 13 that expresses our disapproval in the reenactment of Charter Change (ChaCha) under the Aquino administration.
Mr. Chairperson and to my fellow legislators, Anakpawis partylist has 3 major issues and basis why we assert our standing against the proposed ChaCha.
First, giving rights to the foreign corporations and companies to own lands in our country will not make any development. The proposed 100 % foreign ownership of land is clearly against the legitimate rights for land of our poor Filipino farmers that are supposed to be the proprietor and the tiller of their land. This is also a proof of surrendering our national patrimony and sovereignty to the foreign controls.
